Calne to Chippenham

There are no active projects in the section at present (2017) but Masterplanning work is taken place to link these town important towns.

The canal in Castlefields Park Calne has been restored for some time and includes an original (Chaveywell) bridge

It is intended that the original canal route is restored to Calne  but a new route is proposed to replace the Chippenham branch adjacent to the former railway line to join the river Avon to allow navigation into Monkton Park

In the centre of this section on the mainline of the canal is the site of the Aqueduct at Stanley over the River Marden
